The Daily Beast recently published an article by journalist Michael Wolff, claiming that Melania Trump was introduced to Donald Trump through a modeling agent linked to Jeffrey Epstein. This came after a challenge from Melania Trump’s lawyer regarding the article’s claims.
After the publication, Melania Trump’s lawyer reached out to The Daily Beast, questioning the framing of the article. Following an internal review, The Daily Beast retracted the piece and issued an apology for any confusion it may have caused. The original article’s website link has since been updated to reflect its removal.
In an interview with Joanna Coles, the Chief Content Officer at The Daily Beast, Wolff made striking allegations about Melania’s ties to Epstein, particularly emphasizing her purported involvement in the relationship. Wolff suggested that Epstein had connections to both Melania and Donald Trump, claiming she was introduced to Trump through Epstein.
President Trump has faced increasing pressure from his supporters to disclose the so-called “Epstein Files.” This follows failures from Attorney General Pam Bondy, who distributed “Epstein Files: Phase One” binders to selected conservative influencers earlier this year. The contents of the binder reportedly failed to reveal any new information, sparking unfounded conspiracy theories alleging that Epstein was somehow linked to intelligence agencies.
Later on, Bondy mentioned that some interpretations regarding Epstein’s client list were misrepresented, clarifying that they were discussing the Epstein file rather than a specific list. The Department of Justice eventually released a two-page memo stating there was no credible evidence suggesting Epstein blackmailed anyone through sex trafficking. This memo, however, did little to quell the anger among Trump’s base, who continue to demand more transparency regarding the Epstein case.
Trump has dismissed those insisting on further investigation into the Epstein scandal, describing them as misguided followers of a fabricated narrative. In a recent statement, he criticized supporters for clinging to what he called a “hoax” and lamented their refusal to learn from past events.
Wolff’s credibility has been questioned in the journalism community. In the past, he made controversial claims regarding Trump’s alleged infidelities. Critics have pointed out that some of Wolff’s reported narratives seem to stem more from imagination than factual accuracy.
In a separate statement, Wolff denied any involvement in the controversial Daily Beast article. Meanwhile, both The Daily Beast and the White House have not responded to requests for further comments on this unfolding story.
