Dak Prescott has some new responsibilities.
The Dallas Cowboys quarterback announced that his girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos gave birth to their first child, “Baby MJ,” last Thursday.
“Yeah, it feels different,” Prescott told reporters Monday about how it feels to become a father. “Especially when you wake up in the morning, you look at your baby and understand your responsibility.
“Everything I’ve always wanted for myself, I ended up wanting even more for someone else. It’s special. The baby’s doing well, the mom’s doing well, everyone’s healthy and staying home, and we… is happy.”
Prescott, 30, finished second in MVP voting last season after throwing for 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns and nine interceptions and leading the Cowboys to the NFC East championship.
That part has gotten easier for Prescott, but he’s still getting used to the responsibilities of new fatherhood.
When asked about changing diapers, Prescott quipped, “It’s only a handful.” “I changed his first one, and then I changed about two or three things so he could take over the job.”
Ramos and Prescott, 30, first started dating in September 2023 and announced on November 26 that they were expecting their first child.

Prescott and the Cowboys will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing end to the season that saw Dallas lose 48-32 at home to the Packers in the wild-card round.
