Dak Prescott stars in incredible colon cancer screening PSA

Dak Prescott is having a great season this dallas cowboys Heading into a crucial Week 14 matchup at home. philadelphia eaglesthe Dallas passer is a solid MVP candidate and has the Cowboys squarely in contention for the playoffs.

But what he did this week may be even more important.

Prescott joined forces. We partnered with the Colorectal Cancer Alliance and Ryan Reynolds' creative agency Maximum Effort as part of our Lead from Behind campaign to raise awareness about the importance of colon cancer screening. The video promotes Cologuard, a home colon cancer screening test, and is narrated by Reynolds and acted by Prescott.

And the video leans into an entirely unbelievable premise to guide viewers through this important screening step.

Yes, in Prescott's words, “make your feelings completely clear.”

That's right, just put a sticker on the bucket of something that might be “problematic” before providing the sample. For example, as in “old-fashioned prospector” (i.e. san francisco 49ers) or “Big American Predatory Bird” (i.e. the Philadelphia Eagles, where the Cowboys are playing this weekend), then do what you need to do.

Of course, given the constant involvement of lawyers, this led to such an incredibly minute point.

The PSA concludes with a Reynolds sticker on the bottom of the collection kit.

According to the World Health Organization, the importance of early screening for colon cancer is: 3rd most common cancer in the world, and the fact that it is the second leading cause of death from cancer cannot be underestimated. Treatments for colon cancer are reported to be “most effective” when detected early. Centers for Disease Control and Preventionregular screening is “the most effective way to reduce the risk of colorectal cancer.”

This is also a problem very personal To Prescott. His mother, Peggy Prescott, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and died at age 52. Her QB continues to praise her every day, and as she finished her speech after accepting the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award last February, he once again praised her. Showed respect.

Simply put, this PSA saves lives. Not only is it an absolutely fantastic campaign, but it's also extremely important.
