Dakota Johnson made a surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” alongside Lily Allen, portraying the character “Madeline.” She wore a striking Bode sheer and lace teddy dress, priced at around $900, paired with a sheer sequined duster coat, which was mostly obscured during Allen’s performance of her new single “Madeline,” where she sang about her mistress.
Johnson took on a spoken word segment of the song, discussing a relationship dynamic where the affair was meant to remain discreet. She expressed empathy, saying, “I hate that you’re in so much pain right now. I don’t want to be the cause of the upset,” as she approached Allen.
In a slightly tense moment, she told Allen, “He told me that you knew this was happening and had full consent. If he’s lying about it, please let me know because I have my own feelings about cheating.” After this, the 36-year-old Johnson affectionately kissed Allen, who is 40, on the cheek.
In Allen’s song, she expresses feelings about her estranged husband, David Harbour, seemingly breaching the terms of their open marriage. The woman involved, later named as costume designer Natalie Tippett, had reportedly met Harbour while working on a film in New Orleans back in 2021.
Interestingly, for Halloween, Allen dressed as Madeline from a beloved children’s book series, giving a twist to her recent life events. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Allen and Harbour, who wed in 2020, were ending their marriage, with Allen officially filing for divorce in September.
