Dalton Kincaid almost made a catch that could have saved the Bills' season.
Instead, Josh Allen's final pass slipped through Kincaid's hands under pressure late in the fourth quarter of the AFC Championship Game between the Bills and the Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. It fell to the ground like that. on sunday.
In the end, the Chiefs won the game 32-29, earning them a ticket to the 2025 Super Bowl to be held in New Orleans next month.
“We have a chance to catch it, and we should be able to catch it,” Kincaid told reporters after the game.
Kincaid was open and the pass was lofted within reach, but the Bills tight end seemed to misjudge where the ball was going and had to make a diving effort to try and catch it, but to no avail. Ta.
“Josh missed the ball. He was under pressure,” Kincaid said. “It was hanging there and I couldn't catch it.”
If played 4-5, the catch would have been far more than the Bills needed for a first down and would have put Buffalo closer to field goal range.
Bills coach Sean McDermott told reporters after the game, “Josh had the ball in his hands and we had a chance to win, but we just fell short.'' “I thought I had a chance to catch the ball, but at the end of the day, I'm very proud of this football team.”
Sunday's loss was only the fourth time in the last five years that they have lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs, and the fiery moments at the end of the game only highlighted the Bills' misfortune.
There were still nearly two minutes left on the clock, but the looks on the faces of the Bills players seemed to indicate that the game was almost over.
As Allen walked off the field with a heartbroken expression on his face, Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins and Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones could be seen hugging each other in their customary postgame hug.
The Chiefs have been something of a white whale for the Bills in recent history, and Sunday will mark the second time the two teams will meet in the AFC Championship Game.

The Chiefs will face the Eagles in a rematch of the Super Bowl from two years ago.
The 2025 Super Bowl will be held in New Orleans on February 9th.
