BALTIMORE — The last time Dalvin Cook was on an NFL field for a game was Christmas Eve, when his Jets faced the Commanders.
Almost four weeks later, Cook will face a much higher stakes game on Saturday.
The Ravens signed Cook to the active roster this week and are expected to play against the Texans in the AFC divisional playoff game.
“Dalvin will be there,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said this week. “I think it's going to be a great opportunity for him and for us. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does. It's new. We've never seen him outside. You guys haven't seen him before. Like, we haven't seen him. We've watched him practice. He seems to be doing well and he's playing in games like the other players. We’re going to try to do whatever we can to win the game.”
Coach Cook will incorporate a series of plays into his game plan as the Ravens look to advance to the AFC Championship Game.
For Cook, making the playoffs would cap off a strange season.
The Vikings released Cook last spring, but he struggled to find a team.
The Jets signed him to a one-year, $7 million contract in August.
However, Cook barely played for the Jets.
He ended up with 67 rushes for 214 yards and 15 catches for 78 yards.
Cook did not score a touchdown as a Jet.
His longest run was 14 yards.
His best rushing game was 35 yards.
The Jets waived him on Jan. 2, and the Ravens signed him to their practice squad this week before adding him to the active roster.
“[It’s] It was just a breath of fresh air, to be honest,” Cook said this week. “[It’s] A new start, a clean slate. [I’m] I haven't looked back. [I’m] I'm looking forward to. For me, it's just to go out and show off my talent again, just go out and show off my talent and show the world that I'm still him. I'm still that guy. I was looking for an opportunity and I got it. You have to take advantage of it. ”

It's unclear how big a role Cook will play Saturday.
In front of Cook, the Ravens will have running backs Gus Edwards and Justice Hill.
Cook, ranked No. 31, said he would be happy with any role.
“I'm not particularly looking forward to it, but… [having] Role or whatever,” Cook said. “I got a call on number 31, so I'm going to go there. I'm gone. (Laughter) I'm going to go to the field. I'm ready to put on a play, but I'll be honest. and gas [Edwards and] justice [Hill]they put in work all year round.
“I have to give them credit, so whatever my role is, whatever they ask me to do, [to do]They're going to get 1000 percent from Dalvin. ”
