Dan Campbell drops profane words while discussing Lions’ latest injuries during radio interview

Dan Campbell's Detroit Lions attempted a strong comeback against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. However, NFL MVP candidate Josh Allen, who scored four touchdowns in this game, proved to be too much for the Lions to overcome.

The 48-42 loss to the Bills was the Lions' second loss of the season, but it didn't knock Detroit out of the NFC's top spot. The Lions and Philadelphia Eagles enter Week 16 with a 12-2 record.

However, the Lions would not have reached 12 wins without the adversity of being hit by injuries.

Multiple Lions players suffered what appeared to be serious injuries during Sunday's game. Campbell appeared regularly on Detroit's 97.1 The Ticket and spoke about the team's difficult situation. At one point during the conversation, a heated Campbell let out a profanity.

“You know, what happens is that you get used to eating filet mignon — and I'm telling all of us — and everything falls into place.” Campbell said. “Life is good, but I've forgotten what it was like to have nothing and eat molded bread. It was so good and gave me everything I needed. Sometimes you have to get punched in the mouth. And remember what it felt like to be truly grateful for where you are. we do.

“We've got a bad mouth. We got kicked the other day. We've lost a few guys. And you know what? That's exactly what we needed. This is exactly what we needed. That's what I was doing.''

Campbell also said he doesn't care how the Lions win, as long as his team has more points than its opponent at the end of the game.

“And I don't care if we have to win by one point the rest of the year, that's what we're going to do,” Campbell added. “And I'm going to celebrate it. Finishing the game with 50 yards of total offense and winning by one point? You'll see a smile on my face. I promise.”

“If it were the other way around, if we gave up 700 yards on defense and we won by one score, you'd see me smile from ear to ear, right? I can promise you that. So we'll find a way to do it. I’m going to get it done.”

In October, star defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson fractured his left tibia and fibula. The injury will likely keep him out for the remainder of the regular season, but he could return in February if the Lions advance to the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.

“I'm going to miss him,” Campbell admitted. “He's also one of the guys that got us to this position, he's helped us get to this point. And I want the rest of us to know that he's going to keep going and make sure it's not in vain.” We have a duty to confirm that.”
