Dan Quinn reveals surprising details about Jayden Daniels' injury

Dan Quinn Takes Responsibility for Jaden Daniels’ Injury

On Monday, Dan Quinn acknowledged to reporters that it was “100 percent” his fault for keeping Jaden Daniels, the Commanders’ quarterback, in the game, even when the situation seemed precarious. Unfortunately, Daniels dislocated his left elbow with just under eight minutes remaining, during a match where Washington was defeated by the Seahawks, 38-14.

Daniels is now out indefinitely, and Quinn feels the weight of this decision heavily. “I’ve been thinking about it non-stop, and the truth is, I missed it,” the coach admitted.

Quinn clarified that this particular drive was planned to be the last for several starters, including Daniels. He did not intend to have a play designed for the quarterback to run. “I missed it there,” he stated, reflecting on the unintended circumstances.

“Of course, he could scramble; he’s Jayden,” Quinn continued. “That’s what he does best, and I take full responsibility for that.” On the fateful play, Daniels scrambled to his right and, while attempting to dodge a tackle, his elbow bent awkwardly as he was brought down at the 4-yard line.

Daniels left the field with trainers, wearing an air cast on his injured arm. This incident added to Washington’s woes, as Marshon Lattimore is reported to have a torn ACL and Luke McCaffrey suffered a fractured collarbone—both likely sidelining them for the season.

Currently, the team’s record stands at 3 wins and 6 losses, marking four consecutive defeats. They’re gearing up to face the Lions in Week 10, with Marcus Mariota expected to start in Daniels’ absence.
