Kamala Harris on Book Tour Raises Eyebrows
Former Democratic strategist Dan Trenne shared his thoughts on “Ingraham Angle” regarding Kamala Harris’s recent book tour. He suggested that Harris could be undermining the Democratic Party by double-booking her appearances alongside former President Joe Biden’s events.
The book, released on Thursday, reflects on Harris’s brief stint as a 2024 presidential candidate. In an interview with Stephen Colbert, she discussed her campaign experiences. Mark Halperin, a journalist, hinted that Biden’s team might deploy favorable information about Harris if needed. When asked about Halperin’s perspective, Trenne said, “I think it’s Mark. He’s one of the most connected people out there—he’s absolutely right.” He also alluded to Nancy Pelosi’s influence on the situation.
Before Biden withdrew from the race in July 2024, there was significant pressure from Democrats for him to step down after a poorly received debate against Donald Trump that raised doubts about his mental acuity. Notable figures, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi and former President Barack Obama, reportedly contributed to this pressure.
Following Biden’s announcement, Harris accepted the nomination. Throughout her campaign, she consistently defended Biden’s leadership. When asked on “The View” last October whether she had any regrets about their joint approach, she dismissed the idea, stating that she would address it in her book and avoided criticizing the former president.
Trenne emphasized that Harris should reconsider her candidacy if she wants to distance herself from Biden after his unpopular presidency. He noted that candidates with consistent ideologies, like Donald Trump and Ronald Reagan, tend to resonate well with voters. If her narrative suggests that Biden’s presidency was a success, Trenne expressed concern about the implication of moving forward from such a foundation.
This discussion around Harris comes amid Hunter Biden’s public comments in a July interview with Channel 5, where he mentioned several Democrats opposing his father, indicating some family tensions within the party.
