Dana Carvey’s Son Cause of Death Revealed

The cause of death of Dana Carvey's son Dex was revealed to be an accidental overdose of fentanyl, ketamine, and cocaine.

Carvey's eldest son, Dex, died in November last year at the age of 32, and his family said it was a “terrible tragedy”, although they said Dex was struggling with addiction at the time.

“Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, passed away from an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old,” the statement said. “Dex packed a lot into those 32 years. He was extremely talented at many things: music, art, filmmaking, comedy, and pursued all of them passionately.”

“It's safe to say that Dex loved life. And when you were with him, you loved life too. He made everything fun. But most of all he loved his family. , a friend, and loved his girlfriend Kaylee. Dex was a beautiful person. His handmade birthday cards are a treasure. We will miss him forever,” the statement continued.

The family issued a final appeal to those struggling with addiction to seek help and rely on their loved ones.

“To those who are struggling with addiction or who love someone who is struggling with addiction, you are in our hearts and prayers,” he concluded.

Law enforcement said Dex was “locked in the bathroom” and “unresponsive when discovered.” A police source told TMZ that paramedics attempted to revive Dex, but he was later “pronounced dead at the scene.”

An autopsy was performed on Dex, but the cause of death has not been determined as authorities await the results of toxicology tests.

Dexter is a comedian who opened for his father during the filming of the Netflix special Straight White Mail in 2016, and has a background in the entertainment industry.

Dana Carvey and his wife Paula Zwagerman have a young son, Thomas Carvey, 30.
