Dana Carvey’s son Dex’s official cause of death determined

Dana Carvey's son, Dex Carvey, died from a deadly combination of fentanyl, ketamine and cocaine, a report from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office confirmed.

The report said the cause of death was an accident.

When Carvey and his wife Paula Zwagerman shared the news of Dex's death at age 32 in November, they previously said Dex died of an accidental drug overdose.

The statement continued, “Dex packed a lot into those 32 years. He was extremely talented at so many things: music, art, filmmaking, comedy, and pursued them all with passion. did.

“It's safe to say that Dex loved life. And when you were with him, you loved life too. He made everything fun. But most of all He loved his family, friends, and his girlfriend Kaylee. Dex was “such a beautiful person. His handmade birthday cards are a treasure. We will miss him forever.”

Dex died at her home on Nov. 15, and an autopsy was completed the next day, according to a Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office report obtained by FOX News Digital at the time.

Dex was the eldest of Carvey and Zwagerman's two sons. The couple, who married in 1983, also have a son, Thomas, 30.

Last week, the 68-year-old comedian spoke about the loss of his family after returning to his and David Spade's podcast Fly on the Wall for the first time since Dex's death.

Ms Carvey said the outpouring of support her family had received was “incredible” and “absolutely gratifying”. He pointed out that there was really nothing people could do as he and his family tried to work through their grief.

“This is a private trip for me, my wife and my son,” he continued, referring to Thomas.

“We're all together and doing a lot of fun things,” he said. “We go hiking, we go to church. We just want to keep moving.”

Carvey admitted that returning to the podcast and “riffing” with his best friend Spade “is going to be very healthy for me as I recover.”

“Because I'm kind of on the pain train with millions of other people on this planet. And I don't know how long it's going to last, when it's going to stop, when it's going to get better. , no one knows,” he added.

“But in the meantime, all this kind of stuff is very healthy.”

Following Dex's death, Carvey announced in November that he would be taking a break from acting to thank his fans for their support.
