Dana Eden, Producer of “Tehran,” Passes Away at 52
Dana Eden, a well-known Israeli producer renowned for her work on the Emmy Award-winning series “Tehran,” has passed away. She was just 52 years old.
As reported by Israeli public broadcaster KAN, Eden died unexpectedly while in Greece. According to a police official, she was found deceased in a hotel in Athens, with initial indications suggesting that it might have been a suicide. The official requested anonymity since Greek police typically do not speak publicly on such matters.
Eden was reportedly in Greece filming the fourth season of the acclaimed series. In response to circulating rumors regarding her death being a result of foul play, her production company, Donna & Shula Productions, issued a statement on Facebook. They emphasized that such claims were unfounded and untrue.
The statement conveyed, “This is an incredibly painful moment for her family, friends, and colleagues. We kindly ask for respect towards Dana’s dignity and her loved ones’ privacy during this time.”
“Tehran,” which debuted in 2020 on Israeli television and AppleTV, centers around an intelligence officer assigned to infiltrate and sabotage Iran’s nuclear reactor system, creating the groundwork for a military airstrike. The series won the Best Drama Series award at the 2021 Emmy Awards.
Dana Eden’s journey in television began in the 1990s, where she worked on various shows, including the comedy “Yomhem” and the crime drama “Magpie,” before finding significant success with “Tehran.” The series features talents like Niv Sultan, Sean Toub, Sheila Omi, and Shervin Alenabi.
