UFC’s Dana White Promises Historic Event at the White House
Dana White, the CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has declared plans for what he believes will be a landmark event at the White House. He indicated that this upcoming match will be “one of the greatest events of all time,” with reasons that seem pretty compelling.
During a recent podcast, White detailed the main event that’s set to coincide with America’s 250th anniversary celebration. “This is one unique event that never happens again, one unique event. And I’m going to blow the door out of this. I’ll make this one of the best events of all time,” he emphasized, clearly excited about what’s ahead.
In a notable announcement on July 4th, President Trump mentioned the plan to host the UFC at the White House, offering a grand venue for up to 25,000 spectators during the 2026 national birthday celebration.
“Are you watching the UFC? Great Dana White? I’m going to fight the UFC. I’ll fight the UFC on the White House grounds – think about this,” Trump shared during his speech at the Iowa Fairgrounds, hinting at the scale of the event.
Moreover, the President suggested the potential construction of an arena on the White House grounds, courtesy of Dana White. “We have a lot of land there. We’re going to build a little bit — we’re not, Dana is trying to do it,” Trump explained. He continued, “Dana is great, kind of one – like UFC fights, championship fights, full fights, 20,000 to 25,000 people, we’re going to do it as part of the ‘250’.” There’s a sense of excitement in the air, you can almost feel it.
Trump has been a regular at UFC events, often as a guest of honor, which adds a layer of connection to this whole plan. “There are some incredible events, some specialist events, amateur events, but the UFC fight is also a big deal,” he remarked.
In addition to the UFC event, Trump has also mentioned his intention to support something called the Patriot Game, highlighting participation from “top high school athletes in all 50 states.” There’s a mix of ambition and community involvement in all this talk.
“Just a year from tomorrow, we will celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding with a birthday party you’ve never seen before,” Trump asserted. It’s a bit grandiose, perhaps, but it reflects a desire for a truly memorable celebration. “Together, we guarantee that America’s 250th anniversary is the only best year in our country’s city,” he concluded, rallying a sense of national pride.
