Dana White makes CNN anchor regret her attempt to get him to attack Republicans: ‘You guys are really bad’

UFC president Dana White rejected political play on Friday when a CNN anchor tried to lure him into criticizing the Republican Party.

meanwhile interview, CNN anchor Laura Coates suggested that the assassination attempt on Donald Trump hasn’t changed the former president’s stance on politics because the campaign “was already pretty vicious.” Coates cited criticism from some Republicans that Vice President Kamala Harris is “embracing DEI.”

“This whole story is horrible nonsense.”

“What do you think about this message that attacks your opponent’s race and gender?” Coates asked White.

But White apparently had no interest in playing the game.

“I don’t judge people on their politics or who they vote for or anything like that,” he replied. “I don’t know Kamala. She seems like a good person. You know, I have nothing against her. And like I said, I’m not political, but do I think she’s the right person for the job? I personally don’t think so.”

But that response wasn’t enough for Coates, and he pressed White further.

She argued that Republican attacks “are not necessarily about policy,” quoting J.D. Vance’s quip about “childless cat-loving women.” A reference to the left’s anti-family policies.

Despite Coats’ attempts to lure White into attacking Republicans, White stayed out of the fray.

“Politics is the most nasty, vulgar thing. The things that are being said in politics are awful. And what’s being said on one side is being said on the other side – about Trump and about who he picked as his vice president. It goes both ways,” White responded. “This isn’t, ‘Oh my goodness, look what’s being said about Kamala.’ It goes both ways. It’s being said on both sides.”

That response put Coates into defensive mode.

The CNN anchor disputed that both sides were engaging in the same level of attack, again citing only two examples: the criticism of Harris’ “DEI hire” and Vance’s comments about “childless women who like cats” that were taken out of context.

“Dana? Hey, hey!” Coates yelled.

But White finally had enough, reiterating his belief that both sides were making dumb statements before blaming the media.

“What we need to do as voters is cut through all the bullshit and think about who we think is best suited to run the country for the next four years. That’s our job as voters,” he said. “All of these stories are a bunch of horrible bullshit. Who is best suited to run the country? That’s for you, the voters, to decide.”

“You guys, you guys are really bad. Fox is bad. You’re all bad,” he told Coates, referring to the news outlet.

Ultimately, despite White’s obvious annoyance and frustration, Coates got the message. For the remainder of the interview, White and Coates discussed UFC and the Paris Olympics.
