Dana White shares important information about the UFC event at the White House

Dana White, during a recent appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast, confirmed that a UFC event at the White House is indeed happening. This event is tied to the celebration of the U.S.’s 250th birthday, with White stating that it was actually proposed by President Donald Trump.

“I didn’t initiate it—he brought it up to me,” White mentioned. He described Trump’s enthusiasm for the White House, emphasizing the president’s desire to make it accessible and engaging for Americans with various events like Easter egg hunts and Christmas celebrations. Trump has expressed a strong belief that the White House is a place for the people, saying, “This is your home,” which led him to suggest hosting a fight there.

Many specifics about the event are still being worked out, but White noted that a significant hurdle has already been overcome. He shared that fighter planes are projected to leave the Oval Office, affirming rumors around that.

Attendance will be limited to fewer than 5,000 people, making tickets quite coveted. However, White clarified that this focus isn’t about ticket sales; it’s more about the experience itself.

“For me, it’s about being on the lawn of the White House. It’s not so much about the crowd,” he explained. “We’re going to be on the Southern lawn. This is a one-on-one, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” It’s evident how much this means to him.

White and Trump have maintained a friendship over the years, with Trump attending numerous UFC events. Reflecting on their past, White recounted how vital Trump’s initial support was during the UFC’s early days when they faced skepticism and challenges.

“The best part of being friends with him is that he’s genuinely a good guy,” White said. He recalled how Trump helped establish their events at the Taj Mahal during times when they were perceived as an underdog brand.

The excitement is palpable, and as the date approaches, it seems like a unique moment for both the sport and the celebration of American history.
