Danica McKellar Celebrates 51st Birthday with Natural Selfie
Danica McKellar marked her 51st birthday recently by sharing a bare-faced selfie on Instagram. Clad in a red flannel shirt and wearing a cross necklace, she had her wavy hair down and looked radiant. In her post, she stated, “This is 51! No makeup, no filters, just straightforward lighting and a healthy lifestyle… and, more importantly, how I feel about it.”
The actress, perhaps best known for her role on “The Wonder Years,” spent her special day with family engaging in various activities like puzzles and exercising, even taking a dip in the ocean. “And now we’re about to have dinner!” she added excitedly.
McKellar expressed her gratitude, noting, “I feel blessed beyond words today! Fun fact: 51 isn’t a prime number. It’s 3 times 17.” This playful remark is fitting given her background; she’s authored several math-related books including her latest, “I Love You 100.”
Her post received a warm response from friends and followers. Mario Lopez wished her a happy birthday, while fellow actress Candace Cameron Bure complimented her, saying she’s “beautiful inside and out.”
Last year, McKellar shared health tips with the public, revealing that she maintains her figure by eating healthy foods first. “I have this rule where I don’t eat dessert or unhealthy foods until I’m full from something nutritious,” she explained. “After that, I might indulge a little, but I don’t want to ruin my appetite.”
Interestingly, McKellar, whose birthday falls in January, mentioned that she doesn’t set New Year’s resolutions. “I suppose it’s because I try each day to be the best version of myself, following God’s guidance. One of the themes in my Christmas films is actually about listening to Him,” she reflected during an interview.
She further stated that her “number one secret” for staying fit is drinking plenty of water, revealing that her diet is, in her words, “very boring.”
In the days leading up to her birthday, she shared throwback photos from her New Year’s Eve celebrations in her twenties, reminding her followers about how much fun she had then.
McKellar donned a sparkly black flapper dress for a themed 1920s murder mystery party she hosted with her husband, Scott Svesloski, who wore a classic tuxedo. Her post captured the joy of dressing up, saying, “We love any excuse to celebrate!” She also humorously included a photo of her teenage son, Draco, dressed for the occasion with a bushy fake mustache.
