Earlier this week, the Visa Cash App RB F1 Team released a media preview for this weekend’s Formula 1 Grand Prix. During that preview, driver Daniel Ricciardo shared his thoughts about the race being held in Montreal. “I love Montreal, the place and the track, so I’m really looking forward to going back. I have special memories there, and this year marks 10 years since my first F1 win on this track,” said Ricciardo. “Obviously, I missed the race last year, so I’m more than ready to have a good weekend and get some more points. Maple syrup, poutine and good times!”
As it turns out, that last sentence about maple syrup was kind of a clue.
Ricciardo unveiled a specially themed helmet on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, which pays homage to sweet, sticky maple syrup.
Also, here’s a great caption from VCARB’s social media team:Honey It was named “Syrup Badger” after Ricardo’s nickname “Honey Badger.”
Ricciardo also shared pictures on social media of his helmet and pancakes with syrup on them.
There will probably be a few more themed helmets this week, but it may be hard to top Ricciardo’s effort.
