Daniel Vogelbach has another major league job.
But it's not on the active roster.
According to multiple reports, the hitter designated by the former Met has landed a special assistant in the hit division position with the Pirates.
He hit Matt Haag last season, hitting the New Pirates, who was Toronto's assistant hit coach.
Vogelbach spent the first half of the 2024 season with the Blue Jays, earning just 79 innings on .186/.278/.300 on one home run before being allocated in June, hitting .186/.278/.300. Ta.
The 32-year-old appears to have played less than three seasons since becoming a fan favorite for Queens after a deal with the Mets from the Pirates before the 2022 trade deadline.
In the final two months of that season, Vogelbach hit six homers in .830 OPS, helping the Mets support their first playoff berth in six seasons.
Things went south for Vogelbach in 2023. He hit .203/.343/.297 with two home runs and 14 RBI before he took a mental break from the game in mid-June.

“I didn't create a way for me to produce,” Vogelbach said after returning from his hiatus. “After all, the name of the game is winning. If the team doesn't do their part to help them win, then someone else can do it. So you do your job and this team wins. I'll do what I can to help.”
He finished the season with 13 Homer and .742 OPS.
The Mets later untendered the left-handed batting bat.
In his 10 major seasons, Vogelbach has bounced back and stints with the Mariners, Brewers, Blue Jays, Pirates and Mets.
