Daniel Vogelbach Steals the Show at Brewers’ Championship Rally

Daniel Vogelbach is making quite a name for himself.

While he may not have been a standout player during the Brewers’ first World Series victory, he definitely took center stage at the team’s championship rally after the parade.

After what seemed like hours of celebration, Vogelbach, aged 33, seized the microphone for an unexpected karaoke performance. The moment he heard the opening notes of “Stacy’s Mom,” the 2003 hit by Fountains of Wayne—a favorite among millennials—he rolled his eyes.

“All right, if you guys really want this, we’re going to do it,” Vogelbach announced, his voice a bit hoarse.

With a mic in one hand and a Miller Lite beer in the other, he humorously slurred through the first verse, striding back and forth in front of a lively crowd, full of fans smiling, dancing, and clapping along to his off-key performance.

Interestingly, this might not have been as spontaneous as it seemed. As reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Vogelbach was honoring a promise he had made to sing “Stacy’s Mom” during the Game 5 celebration once the team left the stadium.

Beyond just being a fun personality in the clubhouse—a trait he was recognized for throughout his playing days, including a stint with the Mets—Vogelbach has been instrumental in helping the Brewers achieve one of the top offenses in the league. Despite ranking 28th in home runs, Milwaukee impressively finished second in runs scored and third in OPS.

The team’s hitting approach mirrored Vogelbach’s own successful strategies from his eight-year career. With a .340 on-base percentage—boasting an impressive .363 in two shorter seasons with the Brewers—he consistently found ways to get on base without relying heavily on power, except for a notable 30-homer season in 2019.

The rally took place by the lake in Milwaukee, drawing crowds following the Brewers’ World Series parade. As pitcher Jacob Misiorowski noted, the team had managed only “probably two, three hours” of sleep since clinching the title in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Wednesday.

As for the parade day antics, Misiorowski chugged a beer tossed at him by a fan from the sidewalk, while outfielder Garrett Mitchell playfully posed for a picture by grabbing a baby from the crowd. Not to be outdone, 71-year-old Hall of Famer Robin Yount made an appearance, riding onto the stage on a Harley.
