Danish PM Slams US Pressure on Greenland as ‘Unacceptable’ Before Usha Vance’s Visit!

Ahead of Usha Vance visit, Danish PM calls US pressure on Greenland 'unacceptable'

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was labeled the latest “unacceptable” regarding Greenland on Tuesday, ahead of a visit from Second Lady Usha Vance later this week.

“In this scenario, we must assert that there is unacceptable pressure on Greenland and Denmark, and we stand against such pressure,” Prime Minister Frederiksen stated, as reported to broadcasters by Reuters. Her nation.

Vance’s Office announced on Monday that the Second Lady will be visiting Greenland on Thursday alongside her son and a US delegation. During her time in Greenland, Vance plans to “explore historical sites, discover Greenland’s heritage, and participate in the Avannata Qimussus, a competition for Greenland’s national dog breeds.”

“Mr. Vance and the delegation are eager to witness this significant event and honor Greenland’s culture and unity,” stated the Second Ladies Office previously.

Greenland’s Prime Minister Múte Bourup Egede criticized Vance and the delegation’s upcoming visit to Greenland, suggesting it is part of a “very aggressive” campaign to dominate the territory of Denmark’s autonomous region.

“Not long ago, we were allies and friends, and we could depend on Americans we wished to collaborate closely with,” Egede shared with the Greenland newspaper on Sunday. “But that is no longer the case; they have essentially taken control of our country without considering our stance, as the new American leaders seem entirely indifferent to our previous partnership.”

On Monday, President Trump defended his decision to send Vance and her delegation to Greenland, asserting that Danish officials had extended the invitation.

“This is not a provocation; it’s about familiarity. We interact with many individuals in Greenland who wish to see meaningful progress regarding their safety and well-being. They reach out to us; we don’t initiate contact, and we were invited there.”

Oka contacted the White House for comments.
