Danny Serafini, charged with killing his father-in-law, was involved in a relationship with the family nanny, according to court documents.

Dan Serafini, a former Major League pitcher, has been reportedly involved with his family’s nannies prior to the arrests connected to a deadly ambush in 2021, which included interactions with his in-laws.

New court documents reveal attempts by Serafini, who is 51, to murder Wendy Wood, Spoore’s wife, in Lake Tahoe, California. This information was highlighted in a report by Daily Mail.

Samantha Scott, 35, the nanny in question, is anticipated to serve as a key witness for the prosecution against Serafini during his trial.

Both Serafini and Scott were arrested simultaneously after it was claimed that Scott drove Serafini to the home of his in-laws on the night of the incident.

Earlier this year, Scott reached a plea agreement.

Prosecutors suggest that the underlying reason for the murder relates to a long-standing family dispute over finances.

Although Wood initially survived the shooting, she tragically took her own life in 2023.

Serafini, who played for six different teams throughout his seven-year career from 1996 to 2007, is married to the daughter of the couple involved, Erin Spore.

In a twist, Erin is expected to testify in support of her husband.
