Danson, Harrelson, Stewart among the latest to venture into podcasting

Stars known for their film roles are entering the podcast world, including Ted Danson, Woody Harrelson, and Jon Stewart.

Danson and Harrelson have signed up for “Where Everybody Knows Your Name with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson (Sometimes),” which launches June 12 on SiriusXM.

The title is, of course, a reference to their longtime co-starring role on the NBC sitcom “Cheers” and the fact that Harrelson’s participation is more limited. “If Danson is found, we will be with him,” SiriusXM said.

The podcast features conversations with Will Arnett, Kristen Bell, Laura Dern, Jane Fonda, Conan O’Brien, Nick Offerman, and more.

Stewart will return to Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” earlier this year to host once a week and have a podcast called “The Weekly Show,” according to Comedy Central. It is scheduled to be released in early June.

As described by MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Network, the podcast sounds like an extension of the TV show with guests and a deeper dive into issues.

“After much reflection, meditation, and prayer, I have decided to extend my work week to two days,” Stewart said.
