Kevin Knight has recently teamed up with the Don Callis family, all in pursuit of the AEW World Championship. His journey began on “Dynamite,” where he set his sights on Darby Allin and “Speedball” Mike Bailey. There’s been some frustration among fans, especially after Allin lost the AEW Title at Double or Nothing to Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF), and Bailey’s breakup of the Jet Speed tag team added to the mix.
Originally calling out MJF, Knight instead found himself facing Allin, who confronted him with a skateboard. “I hope New York was worth it,” Allin remarked, hinting at the gravity of the ongoing confrontations.
Amidst this chaos, the Don Callis family made their presence felt, trying to remove Allin from the arena, but the tension had already escalated. After Allin’s loss to MJF in a title match, Knight delivered a punishing blow to Allin when he was being taken out on a stretcher.
Meanwhile, Andrade El Idro is still waiting on Caris to uphold a promise regarding a title shot against MJF. Later that evening, Andrade conversed with Caris, who hinted that the opportunity would come, just not quite yet.
Mark Briscoe Eyes AEW World Championship
Mark Briscoe has been vying for a shot at MJF and the AEW World Championship for some time, but MJF continually dismissed him as not being worthy of the main event spotlight. However, things took a turn on Wednesday night.
Briscoe scored another significant victory over Pac, marking a long streak of wins since his earlier defeats in a tag team match. He mentioned a discussion he had with AEW CEO Tony Khan, which paved the way for a cage match at Forbidden Door involving himself and five others against MJF’s team. If Briscoe’s group triumphs, they secure guaranteed spots for an AEW World Championship match. As for MJF, he’s turned to the Don Callis family for assistance, with Knight expressing his willingness to back MJF if it means a shot at the title.
