In a surprising turn of events, a black helicopter was seen flying in impressive patterns around the trees at Newport Beach Country Club, shooting off pyrotechnics and navigating through plumes of smoke.
Local realtor Nicole Dishon caught the thrilling scene on camera and shared it on Instagram, expressing her excitement about the extravagant display.
“What an incredible night at Newport Beach Country Club! I’m just blown away by how amazing it was,” she remarked.
The intense performance led local authorities to reassure residents not to be alarmed by the activity.
“Residents near Newport Beach Country Club might notice some heightened noise and activity around a private event from 5:45–6:00 p.m. This will include a helicopter flyover, fireworks, loud sounds, and theatrical smoke as part of a scheduled demonstration,” the Newport Beach Police Department noted on X.
They added, “This demonstration is planned to last about 15 minutes. It’s all part of the event, so there’s no need for concern. Thanks for your patience.”
The show was reportedly part of the opening gala for the Seal Future Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting Navy SEALs transitioning to civilian life.
The foundation aims to assist with their overall well-being, education, and career opportunities as they continue to serve their communities.
Interestingly, the helicopter is linked to Hollywood. Records show it belongs to Long Beach-based HOLLYWOODS ASTAR LLC, with notable helicopter pilot Fred North among the owners, according to reports.
North has significant experience working on major films such as “Armageddon,” “Seven Years in Tibet,” and several Marvel movies like “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”
Newport Beach, by the way, is situated about 48 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles in Orange County.
