For Grace Kelly, the 27-year-old daughter of country music star Wynonna Judd, the travails seem to continue. According to allegations in a report from her daily mailKelly recently exposed himself to drivers in Alabama and offered sexual services in exchange for a “ride” in his car.
On April 5, police received not one, but two calls about Kelly in Millbrook, Alabama, about 400 miles south of Kelly’s last known address in Franklin, Tennessee. First callers reported that she was seen walking around near some area businesses waving a placard that read “A Ride for a Ride.”
Millbrook Police Chief Johnson told the Daily Mail that when officers met with Kelly, they got into an argument and insisted that prostitution “in exchange for a ride” was not “illegal.” he said. Her officers then instructed her to leave the area, which she apparently complied with.
However, Millbrook police later received a report that Kelly had broken into a Circle K gas station and caused a disturbance, claiming he may have been the victim of a robbery.
When officers located Kelly during the second call, she was no longer at the gas station. This time, she was standing near the intersection of a highway and interstate, exposing her breasts and private parts, and again allegedly waving her suggestive sign.
“She was not appropriately dressed,” Chief Johnson told the Daily Mail. “She wasn’t covering what needed to be covered, and while she was in that condition and motorists were passing by, she held up a ‘Ride for a Ride’ sign and held herself up. He was showing off.”
In her second encounter with police that day, Johnson described Kelly as “belligerent and argumentative,” prompting police to arrest her. She was initially charged with lewd conduct and obstruction of government business and was held on $2,000 bail. She was later charged with pimping, which could increase her bail by another $1,000. She has a hearing scheduled for later this month.
Kelly was not in possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia at the time of her arrest, but Johnson attributed at least some of her alleged behavior last week to drug use. “She may not have had any drugs in her possession at the time of her arrest,” Johnson said, “but when you look at her booking photo, it wasn’t that long ago.” she said.
Kelly is already in prison for methamphetamine manufacturing. She became pregnant a few years ago while on her parole, but she continued to go back and forth to prison on various drug charges. She gave birth to her daughter Kaliya in 2022.
Johnson recognizes the need to enforce the law and protect communities from those under the influence, but Kelly’s family has watched her life spiral out of control as a result of her addiction. also expressed sympathy.
Johnson said she spoke with Kelly’s father, Arch Kelly, who was married to Judd from 1996 to 1998. “He asked questions that you would expect a father to ask about his child.”
Wynonna Judd has not called to inquire about her daughter, but Johnson suggested Judd may have just reached a breaking point. “This is just my opinion, but [Judd and ex-husband Arch Kelley] “They tried to help her, but to no avail so far,” Johnson said, adding, “They probably tried multiple times to get this young woman to be helped.”
Judd has previously called Grace Kelly “the strongest Judd woman in our ‘history'” and she also cared for her granddaughter Kaliyah while Grace was incarcerated. A source told the Daily Mail: “Wynonna is ready to take care of Kalyah if Grace goes back to prison, but she’s praying that doesn’t happen.”
