Adams began the 2024 season with the Las Vegas Raiders, but he was reunited with Rogers when he was traded with the Jets in October. Gang Green acquired Rodgers in the trade that was a huge hit two years ago, but the move didn't pan out in the way the quarterbacks and teams wanted.

Move from Adams and you'll receive pay cap relief to the Jets. New York inherited Adams' contract when he was traded with the team, and his salary was scheduled to account for an estimated $38.3 million in the 2025 cap.

Does Aaron Rodgers and the Giants make sense?

Releasing six Pro Bowls will clear more than $29 million from the Jets' 2025 salary cap. New York needs to explain dead cap charges despite the negative charge pales in comparison to what the team saves in 2025.

Not long after the season ended, Adams suggested that his future with the Jets was tied to whether Rodgers has returned. The Jets' previous administration brought in players who played with Rogers in the past. Before making a deal with Adams, Gang Green signed Allen Lazard in 2023.
