Davante Adams finds new life with the Rams

Davante Adams hasn’t even played a game against the Rams yet, but he’s already taken a liking to the “atmosphere” and “aura” of Los Angeles.

“Everyone feels good,” Adams, who was traded from the Raiders to the Jets last season, shared with reporters on Tuesday. “It’s not like a dark cloud is hanging over the building, and that’s something I’ve experienced repeatedly over the last few years.

“When you come to a place like this, it’s a noticeable difference.”

The 34-year-old wide receiver expressed that his new environment feels “just exactly what I needed.”

He mentioned that the Rams have a “college-style camaraderie” that he appreciates.

In 2022, Adams was speaking of a “dark cloud,” which made him re-evaluate his path. He became Aaron Rodgers’ go-to target during nine impressive seasons with the Packers, but he sought a trade to the Raiders to escape the uncertainty surrounding Rodgers’ future.

Despite strong individual performances in Las Vegas—posting 100 receptions and 14 touchdowns in 2022, and 103 catches for 1,144 yards in 2023—the team finished below .500 in both seasons.

By mid-2024, Adams was reunited with Rodgers in a trade involving six Pro Bowlers and three All-Pros moving to the Jets.

So far, it seems that for Adams, life in Los Angeles is bright both literally and figuratively.

He also mentioned Matthew Stafford at a traffic light, noting that he’s excited to be with a strong quarterback. Adams is clearly eager, saying he appreciates how hungry the team is and recognizes the effort they put in to ensure he’s on the right track.

Adams is set to make his Rams debut against the Texans at Sofi Stadium on September 7th.
