Davante Adams, Garrett Wilson at loss for words over Jets offense’s futility

GLENDALE, Ariz. — They set the Texans on fire and all systems went to Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams.

So choose your poison, Cardinals. I wish you the best. That's especially true with Aaron Rodgers, who is currently on rest.

And this is Adams after Cardinals 31 points and Jets 6 points.

“We have too many good players, so it would be a shame to go out there and drive as hard as we did and not score a touchdown.”

And this was Wilson:

“We’ve got to find a way to finish and score touchdowns.”

Adams (6-31 on 13 targets) failed to catch a pass in the first half, completing only 14 yards.

“I don't think we had the energy that we had the past two weeks,” Adams said.

Wilson (5-41) had no catches of more than 12 yards.

“We don't have enough energy because we're playing like garbage,” Wilson said.

Adams criticized himself for not being able to complete a 3-yard TD pass early in the third quarter.

“I don't know if it tilted or not, but it hit the guy's hand and stood up on top of me,” Adams said. “This is obviously a play I have to make, it was all weird stuff like that all day.

“I've got to do a better job and finish those plays that I had, those chances in the end zone, whether the ball was slanted or not. I don't really know if it was that way or not. , it was really close. It's one of those things that you just have to understand.”

Adams and Rodgers played in their fourth game, but the Jets couldn't connect on passes that were short of Adams in the second quarter.

“I don't think he practiced that play with that particular look on his face. So I think what he was looking for was potentially a faster play, judging by the pressure he was under. I think so,” Adams said.

There was no Dynamic Duo on this day. Dynamic misfire instead.

Why does this attack seem so difficult so often?

“I don't know,” Wilson said. “I wish I knew. I don't know if I should tell you, but I think it would make you feel better. I don't know. It's frustrating, dude.”
