Davante Adams says Tom Brady still better than most QBs

Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams said he’d be happy to play with Tom Brady even if he was 58 years old.

NFL legend Tom Brady was widely speculated to be playing his final season with the Raiders following their move from Oakland to Las Vegas (which included the construction of a new mega-stadium), but Brady ended up retiring as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, much of the talk seems to center around Brady becoming a minority owner of the Raiders.

With the team currently struggling to find a reliable quarterback, podcast host and former NFL player Shannon Sharpe asked Adams if he would play with Brady if he were to come out of retirement.

“I don’t know if they’ll allow it.”

In fact, Sharp had barely been able to say a word before Adams began to answer.

“Tom Brady…how old do you think you are?” Sharpe began.

“Of course,” Adams interjected.

“Damn, you didn’t finish my question!” Sharp retorted.

“I know exactly [what you were going to say]”When you said ‘Tom Brady,’ I knew what you meant,” Adams continued.

The 31-year-old wide receiver said he knew exactly what Sharpe was going to ask, adding, “We have to talk about age.” [Brady] teeth.”

“I don’t care, I don’t care!” he said.Club Shay Shay“Podcast.”

“Would you hire Tom at 47 or 48?” Sharp continued.

Adams said Brady remains one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, even at age 58.

“He’s older, but he can still pitch better than half the guys in the league.”

The last time Brady seriously discussed a possible return to the NFL was in April 2024, when he said on the “DeepCut with VicBlends” podcast that he was “not opposed” to a Michael Jordan-style return.

“Let’s say one day this situation occurs. [San Francisco] “The 49ers, as you know, will probably make the playoffs. They have a great offense…” the host said.

“Maybe the Patriots, maybe the Raiders, I don’t know,” Brady interjected.

“It would be a disaster if someone collapsed,” the host continued. “Can you take the phone?”

“I wouldn’t be opposed to it,” Brady said at the time. “If I were the owner of an NFL team, I don’t know if it would be allowed. I don’t know, but I’m always in good shape, I’m always ready to throw the ball, so why not just be involved a little bit, like MJ coming back? I don’t know if it would be allowed, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it,” Brady concluded.

Adams told Sharpe that the team’s offense is “fit for Tom Brady” because it’s “an offense that doesn’t work without a very high level of execution.”

Adams was also asked if he felt pressured to live up to the notion that Raiders players were troublemakers on and off the field.

In an amusing response, Adams said that while he wants his opponents to be “scared,” he doesn’t want them to be “scared that they’re going to shoot him or rob him.”

“Not at all! It’s never too out of control,” he laughed.

Brady has continued to make headlines since his retirement, most notably his Netflix Roast, which garnered over 14 million views in its first week, but after the show aired, Brady revealed that the impact his roast jokes had on his kids was so great that he can’t imagine ever taking part in such an event again.
