Daveigh Chase, the actress from Lilo & Stitch, was said to have millions in residuals at the time of her passing.

Davey Chase, the voice of Lilo in “Lilo & Stitch,” has fallen into serious addiction issues that have complicated her ability to claim millions in unclaimed earnings, her manager shared with the California Post.

John Ryan mentioned that Chase was only 8 years old when she agreed to lend her voice for the Disney film, which entailed contracts providing her a share of merchandise sales, theme park features, and other related profits.

According to Ryan, despite being aware of outstanding payments from SAG-AFTRA, he has struggled to get this money to Chase, who is now “too far gone” due to her addiction to heroin and fentanyl.

He pointed out that typically, a deceased person’s next of kin deals with these matters, which means Chase’s father might be her only hope for retrieving any funds.

In a social media video from late 2025, released by the California Post, Chase appeared alarmingly frail and in a near-unconscious state inside a trailer in Skid Row.

Ryan, alongside Chase’s sister-in-law, Gaia Brown, even hired a private investigator to help locate her and facilitate necessary rehabilitation.

After the concerning video circulated, Ryan attempted to reach Chase on Skid Row to provide assistance, but she was nowhere to be found.

Chase passed away on June 17th in a Los Angeles hospital, having been hospitalized for malnutrition. Reports indicated that her ultimate cause of death was meningitis and a blood infection.

A GoFundMe established by a person claiming to be her boyfriend aims to gather funds for her cremation, but Ryan has raised concerns. He stated, “A man claiming to be her ‘boyfriend’ that none of our friends or her family have ever heard of has set this up. We can confirm that Davey has established a trust account with SAG to cover all expenses,” he told the Post.
