David Bossie: Two Steps Democrats Should Take to Maintain Their Relevance

The Struggles of Democrats in Today’s Political Landscape

As time passes, it seems more evident that Democrats are floundering, trying hard to remain relevant. If they want to be taken seriously again, two significant changes need to occur. Firstly, they need to address President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline transparently. Secondly, they must abandon divisive politics, which have not served them well, especially after being overwhelmingly rejected in the last election.

After a decade marked by deception, it’s crucial for politicians to cease misleading Americans. Words alone won’t suffice; actions must follow. This implies an investigation into how Biden’s cognitive health has been concealed from the public eye. With Biden’s recent cancer diagnosis, the need to broaden this inquiry has become even more pressing to understand the former president’s mental state as well.

As the investigation unfolds, it is vital for Democrats to approach this matter collaboratively. The American people deserve it, as the issue of whether the current president should remain in office is significant for national security. Congress and the Department of Justice need to scrutinize potential allegations of conspiracy during the Biden administration and clarify who was involved.

Every four years, American voters select a president, granting that individual the authority to make key national decisions. Bureaucrats, staff, or family members do not hold that power. It’s the president’s actual signature that legitimizes bills or resolutions, demonstrating their awareness and support for the actions taken. Clarity is necessary to determine whether outside influences have manipulated the presidency.

The media should consider promoting bipartisan efforts regarding Biden’s cognitive issues and reflect on their own roles in disseminating misinformation. It’s not enough to simply document these events; journalists need to pursue the truth rigorously if they hope to regain public trust.

Meanwhile, Democrats require a fresh leader willing to critique party members who resist meaningful reforms, often as a reaction to Trump. For instance, when Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz compared customs enforcement agents to “Gestapo” figures, it would be beneficial for someone within the party to highlight how misleading and dangerous such rhetoric can be. Interestingly, polls show that even a significant portion of Democrats support deporting illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds.

Democratic leaders ought to start calling out their peers who rely on divisive language to garner media attention. When former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton claimed that most Republican women in leadership could be patriarchal figures, it not only demeaned many women but also allowed counterproductive narratives to flourish.

Moreover, Democrats also face criticism for their positions on taxation, fair trade, and law enforcement. They need urgent reforms to avoid appearing out of touch with everyday realities. Acknowledging the necessity for change, especially when it comes to engaging with average citizens, is essential for the party’s survival moving forward.
