I did. Although surreal and at times avant-garde, much of his work is based on an American, almost old-fashioned, folksy feel that has its roots in Lynch's own small-town upbringing.
Lynch was both part of the Hollywood entertainment industry and completely independent of it. He managed to maintain a unique creative voice while working for major studios and television networks, although not without some struggles at times.
Dr. MulhollandConsidered by many to be his best work, it started out as a TV series on ABC, but ABC pulled it from airing after the pilot was filmed.
