Dayron Sharpe is an injured Nets player who is expected to return.
Sharpe has been sidelined since Jan. 7 due to hypertension in his left knee, but is scheduled to play Tuesday against the Celtics.
And from what he’s seen, he’s looking forward to playing with new signing Dennis Schroder, who could also split time at point guard with Dennis Smith Jr.
“You know they’re going to give the ball to the big teams,” Sharp said of the duo. “I’m ready to play with the other Denniss.” [Schröder] To know how he feels. ”
Mr. Sharp believes Mr. Schroeder’s experience and Mr. Smith Jr.’s experience will be valuable.
“I feel like he gives me the same vibe that Dennis Smith gave me,” Sharp said. “Play hard, play the right way and try to win.”
Head coach Jacques Vaughn said he expects there to be chemistry between Sharpe and Schröder, although Sharpe will be limited in playing time.
“What’s interesting is just seeing what Dennis can do from the point guard position and whether he was, the connection he had with Nick, that’s going to have to grow. ” Vaughn said. “But Day’Ron also allows us to participate in a variety of coverages.
“So let’s see how it fits. As far as figuring out both ends of the floor, we’ve got a little base.”
Before the injury, Sharp was averaging 7.5 points and seven rebounds.
Both numbers are career highs for the third-year center.
Cam Johnson (left adductor strain) remains sidelined for Tuesday’s game, but was able to do some work during practice.
Mr Bourne said Mr Johnson was taking “positive steps”.
Vaughn said he will continue to navigate different rotations as he gets accustomed to the new roster.
“I think before we got into the game, we definitely wrote the script, ‘What’s the best combination?'” Vaughn said. “I think it’s always important to feel the pulse of the game… [and deal with] We have to adapt to what happens during the match. ”
