Robert Kelker-Kelly’s Final Hours
Robert Kelker-Kelly, widely recognized for his role as Bo Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” suffered chest and arm pain just before his passing at the age of 62, as revealed in a police report detailing his last moments.
A report from the St. Peters Police Department indicated that Kelker-Kelly’s wife, Allison Kelly, picked him up from Spirit of St. Louis Airport around 7:30 PM on October 3. During their drive home, he mentioned experiencing pain in his left arm and chest, which prompted him to ask her to stop the car so he could be sick.
Once home, he opted to lie down rather than go to the hospital after his wife suggested it. After changing his clothes and getting into bed, he continued to feel unwell, eventually asking Allison for an aspirin.
When she returned from the kitchen, she discovered her husband unresponsive and not breathing. Allison immediately contacted emergency services and started performing CPR.
The police and the St. Charles County Ambulance District were on the scene shortly after 8 PM. Despite attempts to revive him, Kelker-Kelly was pronounced dead at 9:09 PM. According to his wife, he had no known medical issues and wasn’t taking any medication. She noted that he hadn’t experienced any significant injuries or surgeries in the past year.
Authorities reported that nothing suspicious was discovered at their home. They noted that Kelker-Kelly had voiced concerns about chest pain shortly before losing consciousness, suggesting a medical emergency rather than foul play.
The St. Charles County medical examiner deemed further investigation unnecessary but did not provide an official cause of death in the report.
Born on April 18, 1964, in Wichita, Kansas, Kelker-Kelly had a vibrant career in soap operas. He first appeared as Sam Fowler on “Another World” in 1987 and took over the role of Bo Brady in 1992, remaining until 1995, during which time he won a Soap Opera Digest Award for outstanding lead actor. Later, he portrayed the character Stavros Cassadine on “General Hospital” from 2001 to 2003, returning to the role again in 2013 and 2014.
