Republican voters in Washington, D.C., will next decide who the party wants at the top of this year’s presidential campaign, but the nation’s capital has given former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley its highest vote yet with a primary victory. giving you a chance.

The Washington, D.C., primary will be held over three days this weekend, with voting beginning Friday and not ending until Sunday night. Nineteen city delegates are up for grabs in this contest, with all 19 being awarded to candidates who secure at least 50% of the vote, or pro rata if no candidates exceed the 50% threshold. Candidates who receive less than 15% of the vote are not eligible to receive delegates.

The nation’s capital is one of the most Democratic cities in the nation, making it a challenge for former President Donald Trump to remain undefeated in the Republican primary.

The nation’s capital will host one of the most unique primaries on the calendar, with voting beginning Friday morning and not closing until 7 p.m. Sunday. Early voting and absentee voting are not allowed. Meanwhile, the results will not be announced live, but instead by district party officials. The primaries will be held a few days before Super Tuesday, when 15 states will hold Republican contests and win 865 delegates.
