Deadline for associates to appeal unsealing has passed, name drops could begin today

A key deadline to release the names of about 200 associates of sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein has passed, but lawyers representing one of his most outspoken accusers say more will be made by the time court records are made public. It may still take several days.

Court officials plan to begin unsealing the case today, but a spokeswoman for plaintiff Virginia Giuffre's team said the filing of the documents could be delayed until next week.

A court set a January 1 deadline for John and Jane Dawes to appeal the looming unsealing of their names in Epstein's case against convicted sex trafficking madam Ghislaine Maxwell. The mandated deadline expired at midnight Monday.

But the judge's order does not include details about the next step, the timing of the creation and opening of documents expected to include the names of former colleagues, friends, employees, accusers and potential accomplices. There wasn't.
