Dean Cain Alleges Sexual Harassment on ‘Lois & Clark’ Set
This week, Dean Cain, who starred as Superman in the 1990s series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” shared that he experienced serious sexual harassment while filming the show. He mentioned, “We could have filed the biggest sexual harassment lawsuit in Hollywood history,” but did not go into detail about the incidents.
According to reports, the allegations affected his relationship with then-girlfriend Gabriel Reese. He added that the show’s cancellation after its fourth season followed a tumultuous time, including directing responsibilities that seemingly vanished.
Certainly, Cain reflected on the risks associated with “Lois & Clark,” emphasizing how much he enjoyed collaborating with Teri Hatcher, who portrayed Lois Lane. He remarked, “Teri Hatcher, in my opinion, was the best Lois Lane ever. She just drove the show.”
Interestingly, he noted that he’s not averse to being seen as a sex symbol. “Anyone who says he feels bad when he’s objectified, really? Come on, that’s a great compliment,” he remarked, perhaps a little tongue-in-cheek.
Cain also reminisced about the financial success of the series, saying that it was “more money than I’ve seen in my life.” However, he pointed out the grueling schedule that often had him working from early morning until late evening, which left him quite exhausted.
Reflecting on his time in the show, he joked about the challenges of training for the role. He mentioned not receiving all the pay he deserved, stating, “I didn’t know enough about my stay at the time.” He referenced George Clooney’s successful lawsuit for compensation and suggested that, at the time, he wasn’t advised to pursue similar actions.
Attempts to reach out to Warner Bros. and Cain for further comments have been made.
