DeAndre Hopkins suffers strained knee in Titans injury blow

The Titans may have to start this season without their best wide receiver.

DeAndre Hopkins injured his knee this week and is expected to miss four to six weeks. According to NFL Media On Thursday.

Hopkins, now 32, led the Titans with 75 catches for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

This offseason, the Titans signed former Jaguars and Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley to a four-year, $92 million max contract.

“It’s definitely a little nice in that respect to have him here and be able to go and take him away from a division rival,” Titans coach Brian Callahan told ESPN’s Adam Schefter earlier this offseason.

“I have all the confidence in him. He’s a pro’s pro,” Callahan said of Ridley. “He’s got real talent. He’s one of the best route runners I know.”

Tennessee also acquired former Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd this offseason.

Treylon Burks, the Titans’ first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft after trading for AJ Brown, had just 16 catches for 221 yards in 11 games last season.

Quarterback Will Revis is expected to be the Titans’ starter in opening week, with former Steelers point guard Mason Rudolph as the backup.

The Titans open the season on the road against the Bears on September 8th.
