‘Death, death, terrible death’ — Trump criticizes reporter shifting focus from genocide of white South Africans

Trump’s Tense Exchange with Reporters Over South Africa Meeting

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump faced reporters after a meeting that took a sharp turn from discussing a video on white South African genocide.

During the session, Trump, alongside the South African president, had dimmed the lights in the Oval Office to showcase a video about “South African Genocide.” Once the video concluded, NBC reporter Peter Alexander prompted Trump with a question regarding a jet that Qatar is supplying to the U.S. Air Force.

“You should leave. What does Qatar’s jet have to do with this? They’re giving a jet to the U.S. Air Force, and that’s great. We’re discussing other topics here. NBC is trying to shift the conversation from what you’ve seen. You’re a frightening reporter. You’re not smart enough,” Trump responded sharply.

He continued, emphasizing the importance of the jets valued at $5.1 trillion, telling Alexander he should return to the NBC studio.

Following this, another reporter was invited to ask Trump about his intentions regarding the situation in South Africa presented in the video.

“These articles from the last few days—people dying, horrifying deaths,” Trump remarked, displaying printed articles detailing the murder and assault of white South Africans provided by his team. “I don’t know. White South Africans are fleeing due to violence… What do you want me to say?” he added, reflecting on the troubling circumstances.

Trump then referenced another article, discussing a burial site in South Africa, pointing back to Alexander while saying, “These are all white farmers buried, and you’re asking about the jet. You should be ashamed. You’re a terrible reporter.”
