Deebo Samuel traded to Washington Commanders, per reports

One of the quickest ways to turn the modern NFL roster around is to be built around a rookie quarterback. Cost-controlled contracts under current collective bargaining agreements allow teams with talented new QBs to enjoy an expanded window of competition loaded around them via drafts, free agency and deals.

Latest example? Washington Commander. Behind rookie quarterback Jaden Daniels, the commander dreamed of the NFC Championship Game. Philadelphia EaglesWashington entered the offseason with the third most effective cap space in the NFL – New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders – and a record of success.

And build a rookie quarterback.

The process has begun.

According to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network Insider, the commander is San Francisco 49ers For talented wide receiver Devo Samuel. In return, the commander sends the 49ers a fifth draft pick.

As Samuel is currently on a contract, trade will not be finalized until the league year begins on March 12th.

That didn't stop the franchise from breaking the news a bit on social media with the perfect GIF:

When the roster stands now, Washington has Samuel, Terry McClaulin, Dyami Brown, Noah Brown, Luke McCafrey, Jamison Clauder and Olamide Zatchie in the wide receiver room. That's with tight ends along with Zach Ertz and John Bates, as well as running backs Austin Ekeller and Brian Robinson Jr.

And the commanders are just beginning their offseason.
