The NFL Draft is just over a month away. Several standout college football quarterbacks are gaining attention in this year’s draft as multiple teams make early selections and look to find their next franchise player.
Sheduar Sanders followed his father, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, to Colorado. The Buffaloes quarterback helped lead Colorado to an impressive 3-0 start. After that, losses began to mount, but Sanders remained productive.
He finished the season with 27 touchdowns, three interceptions, and 3,230 passing yards. Sanders threw 40 touchdowns in his final season at Jackson State, where he also played under his father. These numbers probably only added to Coach Prime’s confidence in his son’s draft potential.

“I think he had the ability, but he probably would have been a second quarterback if he was left out,” Sanders said, according to The Athletic.
In just over a month, Sanders and the Buffaloes will compete in the program’s annual spring game. The scrimmage is scheduled for April 27, a weekend that coincides with the 2024 draft.
Deion Sanders on concerns about NFL son Shedule’s Cave Williams: ‘That’s what matters’
When Sanders, the eldest son, argued that his son would have been a first-round pick in this year’s draft, he cited his Hall of Fame history, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Atlanta Falcons owner, He even touted his ties to Arthur Blank and even NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. .
“The only reason I know that is, don’t you think I know people in the NFL? Sorry, how many years have I played, 14 years? Gold jacket in the crib I think I know some people. Jerry Jones, Arthur Blank, I know a few guys in the game. Roger Goodell. So when I speak, I’m not just spewing something out of my head. They are spitting out something based on their knowledge. So let’s get that straight. ”

Sheduer’s strong play last season generated quite a bit of buzz around the NFL. He previously admitted he was dissatisfied with the way Colorado’s season ended, saying, “It wasn’t the right way to end it.”
The Buffaloes finished the 2023 season with a 4-8 record, which may have contributed to their decision to return to Boulder for the 2024 season.
In January, Sheduer explained why he decided to continue his college football career. “Guys, I know I won’t be declaring this year,” he wrote on Company X, formerly known as Twitter. “We have what it takes to be a huge success this year.”

Sanders missed the final game of last season due to a back injury. On Wednesday, the Buffaloes head coach and two-time Super Bowl champion provided an update on his son’s health.
“He has recovered very well,” Dion said Wednesday. “He’s eight times better than last year. I mean seriously, his back, the way he feels.”
Senior signal callers expressed similar positive sentiments about the recovery.
“It took a long time to recover to 100%,” Schedour said Wednesday. “Slowly, with the weight room program that I’m doing now, I’ve grown into being able to go out there with confidence and be able to do anything, any throw, any run. It’s just to the point where I know it’s okay. I feel great right now.”

He also spoke of his desire to be the first quarterback selected in his draft class.
“I’m trying to be the first quarterback taken off the board, and that’s what it is,” the senior quarterback said. “I respect Caleb, I respect his game. He’s a great player. But overall, there’s a lot of different layers of quarterbacks. There are some special players, and there are good players. There are some players who are okay, there are players who are okay, game managers. What do you need to understand? “What kind of player are you and what category do you fit into? I understood that this is not my year. There wasn’t enough time at the level.”
