Deion Sanders Responds to Criticism About Son’s NFL Meeting
Deion Sanders has pushed back against claims regarding his son, Shedeur, following an NFL team meeting prior to the draft.
As the draft approached, Shedeur reportedly described one executive as the “worst” and also commented on being “right” about the situation. Other sources suggested that he seemed unprepared and too laid-back during the interview, which may have affected his draft prospects, potentially pushing top talents down to the fifth round.
Addressing these rumors, Deion emphasized that negativity stems from people in Colorado who might be anxious about his own potential shift to the NFL. He remarked, “They want to create these stories, attach them to kids who’ve done nothing wrong,” during a podcast appearance. He further assured that his children are well-equipped for such pressure, stating they’ve been in front of the camera for a long time and know how to handle themselves.
Some of these rumors, as Deion expressed, cause frustration. He quoted, “It hurts,” but added that sometimes God uses foolishness to confound the wise, suggesting that past naysayers fueled their determination. He urged people to refrain from spreading false narratives, emphasizing the importance of authenticity.
Despite the earlier reports, the Cleveland Browns ultimately selected Shedeur in the draft, although they first picked Dillon Gabriel in the third round. With some of the rookies now making up a substantial portion of the quarterback lineup alongside names like Deshaun Watson and Joe Flacco, it’s evident that he has a spot in a competitive environment.
