Deion Sanders demonstrates how racial idolization harms teams

In a surprising defeat, Colorado’s coach Deion Sanders was left reeling after his team lost 53-7 to Utah State. However, Blaze TV Host Jason Whitlock wasn’t shocked by the outcome.

“Deion Sanders is exactly who I thought he was, and I think it’s important to point out that he leads through racial idolatry and victimhood,” Whitlock remarked.

“He definitely plays the race card. He sees himself as a victim and wants to take on that role,” he continued, comparing Sanders to Mike Tomlin, the Steelers coach.

“They often receive excessive praise and justification, which undermines their actual achievements,” Whitlock explained.

He also emphasized that after Sanders won consecutive elections last year, figures like Stephen A. Smith acted as if Sanders had dramatically changed the landscape.

“He gets all the money and recognition without putting in equal effort compared to his peers. The ads with Nick Saban made it seem like he was as accomplished as the legendary Eddie Robinson,” he stated.

“He hasn’t reached that level, but we’ve treated him as if he has,” he added, suggesting this tendency is prevalent in the black community.

Whitlock pointed out the pressure of being black in America, noting that the community has both fostered and experienced issues with standards, impacting various areas, including sports.

He reflected on Colorado’s situation with Sanders, who has been celebrated as a great coach despite lacking the credentials. “Now, we’re seeing the proof of that,” he stated.
