Deion Sanders Provides Health Update Ahead of Third Season as Colorado Head Coach

The health of Deion Sanders has been a topic of keen interest this offseason. Recently, there were reports suggesting that the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee was sidelined due to an undisclosed illness.

On Friday, Sanders offered an update regarding his well-being as he gears up for his third year leading the Colorado Football team. He expressed on social media, “I feel good back!”

While Sanders has previously kept many aspects of his health private, it seems he might be shifting his approach.

A press conference is set for Monday, where Sanders will be joined by medical professionals from Cu Anschutz and UC Health, who will provide general updates along with Sanders.

Sanders faced significant health concerns that limited his involvement in spring and summer practices. Consequently, he had to miss the Colorado summer football camp, as noted by reports in June.

In the past few years, Sanders has dealt with serious health issues, including blood clots that resulted in the amputation of two toes on his left foot. Earlier this month, he managed to attend media days, commenting, “I’m here today. I’m dealing with responsibility. So I’m looking forward to it.”

Despite these challenges, there are more hurdles on the horizon as the new season approaches. Colorado will be without standout players like Travis Hunter, who was drafted second overall in the NFL Draft, and quarterback Chedur Sanders, who fell to the fifth round. Kaidon Salter is set to transition from Liberty to Colorado and is expected to take over as the starting quarterback.

The Buffaloes will kick off their regular season at home against Georgia Tech on August 29th.
