Deion Sanders scores $54 million Colorado payday after months of NFL buzz

Deion Sanders got a healthy salary increase to stay in Colorado.

The Buffaloes coach has been given a massive salary conflict from the university and has extended his current contract to $54 million over the next five years.

This almost doubles the salary of his previous contract. This is a five-year, $29.5 million deal from Jackson in 2023.

Sanders built up excitement around the Buffalo program and changed the 1-11 team in 2022 to a 9-4 team that went to the Alamo Bowl this season.

He also raised his Colorado profile by helping his son, Chedure Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter become the first round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Manager Prime brought the pair with him from Jackson State, where he made just $300,000 a year and put together a 27-6 record over three seasons as a coach for the Tigers.

He will make $12 million in 2029, the final year of the extension, before Sanders earns $10 million in 2025 and 2026, and before he increases his $11 million kicks in 2027 and 2028. To Brian Howell from Buffzone.

Previously, there was talk of Sanders leaving for the NFL, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones checked in to have the opening of the head coaching that he ultimately went to Brian Schottenheimer.
