Deion Sanders appears to have found Colorado’s next defensive coordinator.
Coach Prime is expected to hire Rob Livingston to replace the vacant Bengals secondary coach position in 2024. according to multiple reports.
Livingston has spent the past eight seasons in a defensive role with Cincinnati after serving as a scout for the team from 2012 to 2014.
The Bengals ranked third in the NFL in passing touchdowns allowed in 2022 and eighth in interceptions last season, but Cincinnati missed the postseason with a 9-8 record.
Livingston’s expected Colorado jump will be a return to the college ranks for the former William & Mary safety.
He previously served as Furman’s defensive coach for one season (2010) before coaching at Vanderbilt in 2011 as defensive quality control coach.
Sanders was forced to fill the Colorado DC position after Charles Kelly left in December to take the assistant defensive coordinator position at Auburn.
Kelly left Alabama and joined Sanders’ staff before last season.
Colorado ranked second-worst defensively in the Pac-12 last season in defensive yards per game (453.3) and third-worst in points allowed per game (34.9).
According to “The Athletic”Coach Sanders plans to bring in a defensive coordinator with NFL coaching experience when former Giants head coach Pat Shurmur joins the staff just before the start of the 2023 season. But I was in charge of this.
Shurmur, currently the program’s offensive coordinator, was handed the offensive play-calling keys midseason after Sanders took the job from Sean Lewis.

Colorado has been working to fill out its staff since the offseason began, hiring receivers coach Jason Phillips and offensive line coach Phil Loadholt in December.
Vincent Dancy has been promoted to defensive ends coach at Colorado, which will move to the Big 12 for the 2024 season.
