Former Assistant Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby on Wednesday denounced continued cyber espionage efforts allegedly led by China on Fox News.
Mr. Colby appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” to discuss recent U.S. and U.K. allegations against China, which allegedly targeted U.S. government agencies, critical infrastructure, the media, and political dissidents.10 It accused the Chinese government of cyber espionage for more than a year. “What’s surprising about all of this is that China and Xi Jinping haven’t actually changed anything about what they’re doing,” Colby said. “They are continuing the cyber espionage activities that you pointed out. There is.”
“And, more importantly, the Journal reported today, the message from China is actually, ‘Yes, companies can come back, but it’s on China’s terms,'” he said. Stated. “They’re moving more towards what’s called a ‘remove America approach,’ which means Apple’s Tim Cook is saying everything is fine and great, but the Chinese have that impression. Is not.”
The United States on Monday imposed sanctions against the country and said that China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS) has used Wuhan Xiaoruizhi Technology Co., Ltd. (Wuhan XRZ) as a front for Chinese hackers to conceal various malicious cyber operations. He claimed to have made it possible.
Attorney General Merrick B. Garland said at a press conference that the Justice Department will “threaten Americans who serve the public, silence dissidents protected by American law, or steal from American businesses.” We do not approve of the Chinese government’s efforts to do so.”
