Florida Democratic Congressman Jared Moskowitz on Tuesday became the first Democrat to join the bipartisan House DOGE Caucus.
The DOGE caucus was formed after President-elect Donald Trump announced the creation of a new Department of Government Efficiency, which will be led by former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamayi and tech mogul Elon Musk in the next administration. Both federal agencies have come under intense scrutiny in recent months. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have criticized the Secret Service since the first assassination attempt on Trump in July. In November, FEMA reported that it had instructed its employees to ignore visible pro-Trump signs and signs on homes destroyed by Hurricane Milton in Florida. It also received backlash.
