Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) responded after facing backlash from one of his constituents, Patty Morin, the grieving angel mom.
“What happened to the Morins was so bad that it was unacceptable. I can’t imagine losing a child like the one who lost Rachel, and my heart said it was coming out to the Morins,” Van Hollen told Shannon Breem on Sunday.
“I am pleased that the Rachel Morin murderer has been convicted in court, and that’s how we serve as guilty people in court. The court is also a place where people respect their due process rights,” he added.

Patty Morin criticized Van Hollen while appearing as a special guest at a White House press conference last week, accusing her of admitting her daughter of brutal death, using “taxpayer money” to fly to El Salvador and using “taxpayer money” to regain illegal immigration to different priorities.
Van Hollen claims that the Trump administration, which claims to have deported illegal immigrant Kilmer Abrego Garcia, is a member of the MS-13 gang.
Maryland Democrats drew Yle from Republicans last week after visiting Abrego Garcia at El Salvador Mega Prison in Secott.

At the same time, the Rachel Morin incident reappeared in the national spotlight after a ju-dean convicted Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez of brutally raping, strangled, strangled and strangled five Maryland moms in a quaint community in northeastern Baltimore.
Van Hollen emphasized that there is a “zero link” between Morin’s murder and international sights, including the deportation of Abrego Garcia. At the same time, he expressed his “concern” over Morin’s murder.

“My heart is directed at every family member in Maryland who is the victim of violence, regardless of the perpetrator. That’s why I’m very pleased that the court has convicted her murderer, and that’s where we litigate these issues,” he said.
“That’s where the Trump administration has admitted that Abrego Garcia has mistakenly detained and deported him. My point here is that if you take away his constitutional rights to one man, you are threatening the constitutional rights of all. I hope that all of us understand that principle.”
