Democrat Congresswoman Uncovers New Plan to Impeach Trump Once More

During a telephone town hall on Wednesday, Rep. Brittany Pettersen (D-Colo.) informed voters that Democrats are pushing to potentially impeach Trump.

About 8,000 residents from Colorado joined the call, where Pettersen emphasized the need to challenge the Trump administration on matters like immigration enforcement.

“As President Trump intensifies his attacks on Colorado—illegally withholding essential funds, sending ICE into our communities, and making threats to our NATO allies—we want to reassure people that we are committed to supporting them and that they are not alone,” she stated. “I will continue to resist the brutality and lawlessness of this administration while trying to find common ground with my colleagues. It’s going to be a tough journey ahead, but we will get through it together.”

In response to a question from a voter about whether she would support Trump’s impeachment, Pettersen recalled that she voted to advance articles of impeachment related to abuse of power concerning calls for executing Congress members and threats to federal judges. “So that was the focus. Unfortunately, the vote didn’t pass and the article didn’t go forward,” she explained during the call.

While she noted that it was “very unlikely” Trump’s impeachment would succeed, she affirmed, “But we are building our case.” Additionally, she mentioned that Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are working to strengthen their efforts toward possibly impeaching Trump.

Just last month, the House of Representatives rejected an impeachment attempt when 23 Democrats aligned with Republicans, resulting in the withdrawal of a motion introduced by Rep. Al Green (D-TX).
